2023 Acura Integra Review

2023 Acura Integra Overview

The Integra nameplate coincides with the launch of the Acura brand in North America. From 1986 to 2006, the Integra was a popular and affordable option as a front-wheel drive sports car. It was certainly a sad day for many car enthusiasts when the Integra was retired after 2006. For years, there was speculation about a revival, but year after year went by with no news. That all changed in late 2021 when Acura debuted its Integra prototype at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Now, here we are in 2022 with reservations set to open in March and an official launch date getting closer and closer. The team at Pikes Peak Acura knows that you have questions, and we present this early 2023 Acura Integra review in the hopes that we can answer most of them and provide you the latest details.

Exterior - 2023 Acura Integra

The Integra will be available initially as a four-door sedan but also later as a four-door hatchback. One of the most common questions that motivated this 2023 Acura Integra review is whether there will be a three-door option this time around. The answer, for now, is no. As for exterior specifications, you can judge them based on the pictures that have been released or speculate based on the Civic. It has a 107.7-inch wheelbase, a 184.0-inch overall length—about 15.3 feet—and a 5.9-inch ground clearance. The Civic also offers wheels ranging from 16 to 18 inches, which we expect with the Integra as well.

Acura did not show the interior of the prototype. It also has not released the final specifications. That means that the interior is perhaps the aspect of the 2023 Acura Integra where we can provide the least details. That said, we do know that the Integra shares its platform with the Honda Civic and can use those specifications to speculate. The Integra will seat up to five people. Headroom in the Civic ranges from 39.3 inches in the front row to 37.1 inches in the rear row. Front legroom is 42.3 inches. Rear legroom is 37.4 inches, which is among best in class, and trunk space is 14.8 cubic feet.

Acura Integra Mechanical specs

Front-wheel drive will be the standard and likely only drive layout. Its front-wheel drive nature is part of what made the original Integra so beloved. In addition, the Civic, which it shares its platform with, does not offer all-wheel drive as an option. The Integra will come standard with a limited-slip differential. As for other mechanical characteristics, we imagine it will share much in common with the Civic: MacPherson strut front suspension, multilink rear suspension and four-wheel antilock disc brakes.

The Integra shares its 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with the Civic as well. Acura has not provided any output ratings yet, but we would be surprised if it were not at least 200 horses. The Integra will come standard a six-speed manual transmission, which makes it the first Acura to offer manual since the 2015 ILX. The manual will feature automatic rev matching. Acura will offer an automatic transmission as well. It has not specified, but we suspect the continuously variable transmission found in the Civic.

For the safety features, we have to speculate based on the other Acura offerings. Acura has just rolled out a 12-3-inch touchscreen. We suspect it will be available perhaps with its 10.2-inch touchscreen as standard equipment. Every model will have AcuraWatch, which is its suite of advanced driver-assistance technologies. We expect it to include automatic headlamps and high beams, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, blind-spot monitoring and driver attention monitoring. There will likely be some options, such as a head-up display and wireless charging pad.
